I was travelling in a taxi on the Sefwi Wiawso - Sefwi Boako road. We got to a police check point at Anyinabirim. We were signalled to stop by the Police. Upon stopping the car, the taxi driver went to see the Police Officials and gave them GH¢2. He returned to the vehicle and we took off.
I asked the driver why he gave them money when we were not cited for any violation of traffic rule, he mentioned that one has to occasionally give them some money so you could be in their good books. The upside to this is that when you actually get pulled over for violation of some traffic rule one day, you will be favourably treated, thanks to your "investment" bribes.
